Pan Jiaofeng is the President of the Institutes of Science and Development at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as well as the Director of the CAS Center for Innovation and Development. He also serves as the Chairman of the Chinese Association of Development Strategy Studies, and is a delegate to the 14th National People's Congress. Professor Pan is a native of Shandong, and is a graduate of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he obtained his master's degree. He is also an academic researcher and a doctoral supervisor, in which his main research specialties focus on science and technology, strategic planning, innovation policies, and think-tank theoretical methods.
